With the release of their new single, Baddies, and soon-to-be-released album, Spook the Herd, Lanterns on the Lake generously decided to partner with Stop Funding Hate.
Baddies is a song about the rising tide of anger and hate in the world that seems to have been unleashed over the last few years, with those in positions of power and influence actively encouraging it for their own ends, and the polarisation of society as a result. It is about the need for the individual, the underdog, to stand up to it, but the fact that in doing so we become part of it. We become someone else’s baddie.
Stop Funding Hate campaigns on a solution to being part of that anger hate: using our power as consumers to challenge the companies we shop with to stop using our money to fund hateful media.

About the band
Lanterns On The Lake are due to release their 4th album Spook The Herd on 21st February 2020 – a set of poignant and deeply personal songs that critique the darkening times of a rapidly changing world and the bewilderment and disorientation felt by those within it.
Originally formed in Newcastle in 2007, Lanterns On The Lake combine dreamy, melancholic Indie rock with beautiful layers of texture and celestial melodies that thread around intricate instrumentation. They have released 3 critically acclaimed studio albums and a live album with the Royal Northern Sinfonia on Bella Union.
